Know all men by these presents yt I Elisabeth Douglas of New Haven
adminx on the goods and Estate of Benj. Douglas Esq. Late of sd New Haven
Decd for and in Consideration of the Sum of Twenty pounds Lawfull money
Recd to my full Satisfaction in my sd Capacity as adminx as aforsaid
of David Osborn of sd New Haven do by these presents bargain sell set over
Deliver and Confirm unto the sd David Osborn a Certain mallatto man
Servant named Isaac Hammock belonging to sd Estate
To have and to hold to the sd David Osborn his him and
assigns to his and their life benefit & behoof, him by warranting
the sd Isaac to the sd David Osborn his heirs and assigns
against all Claims & Demands whatsoever and that I have
good right to sell and dispose of the sd Isaac in mannner &
form aforsd In witness therof I have hereunto set my
hand and seal this fifteenth Day of January 1776

Know all men by these presents yt I David Osborn of New Haven
in the County of New Haven and Colony of Connecticut for the Consid
eration of Twenty Six pounds Lawfull money recd to my full
Satisfaction do hereby remiss release and forever Quit Claim
unto my Mulatto man Servant Isaac Hammock Lately the
property of Benj Douglas Esqr Decd all my right Title Demand
and Claim whatsoever to the services of the sd Isaac
for and during the Tim of his Natural Life and I do
by these presents absolutelyand to all intents & purposes
whatsoever set free manumit and furthermore for ever
discharge him the sd Isaac from my service, & from all
Claims and Demands, which my Self my heirs Exr admr
or assigns have or might have upon the sd Isaac or
upon his Services or as a man Servant as aforsd And
I the sd David Osborn do for my self my heirs Exr
and admr Covenant primly that these presents to and with
the sd Isaac to warrant Secure and Defend the sd Isaac
in the peaceable possession & enjoyment of
his freedom & of all the rights priviledges & immunities of a free man in the
same manner as tho he ye sd Isaac had been freeborn
against the Claims and Demands of all persons whatsoever
and that I have good right and full power to set free & manu=
mit and Discharge ye sd Isaac in manner & form as above written
In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal this eighteenth
Day of Janu 1776 at New Haven aforsd David Osborn Seal
